How many of us want to get our way? Raise your hand if you are someone who always wished you can make someone do what you wanted them to do. Some of us have ethical hang ups when it comes to persuasion science and we tend to talk it down around other people only to hope to distract them from it so we can have it all to ourselves. Am I
right? We’ll say something like you really believe that stuff works? Knowing in our mind we know that it is a very powerful skill set, perhaps the MOST powerful skill set to have in the world.
We become distractors and disinformation agents by inferring that all of it is a bunch of baloney! “You can’t make someone do anything for you” However there is a budding body of knowledge that is streamlined for anyone to learn how to persuade others effectively.
Occult knowledge leaked
This body of knowledge used to be occult information among secret societies that used these secrets for social order and population control and it is still being used on the entire population as we speak. However it has now found a more common audience among intellectuals and dabblers.
In advertising the power of persuasion becomes evident in it’s covert/overt phase of duality. The part of an ad that annoys you the most is the part of the ad that is intentionally distracting you. It is the power of misdirection. There is always a more subtle objective achieved during the classic pattern interrupt.
The multi-billion dollar advertising industrial complex are experts and wizards in the persuading massive audiences in under one minute. One great example of their peak strength is during the Superbowl.
They use advanced psychological techniques to get the response they want from their consumer. Of course there is a margin of error for the industry but they predominantly have the formula for mass control.
I believe persuasion has now surfaced as one of our neglected survival skills- an almost instinctual skill set that is now being systematized and bar coded. Applaud the mavericks!!! They work hard and play even harder…they paved the way for our inner Cialdini to surface!
Creating Structures For Processes
I believe the mind to be structured in this manner:
1. Central park – A place where you accept all and embrace wholeness
2. Bedroom – A shared private space
3. Bank Vault – A place only you have the combo to for access
4. Class Room – All learning is done here
5. Church/Temple – All your most sacred beliefs and place for redemption
6. Rollercoaster – Pinnacle of fun with more than yourself
7. Bungee Cord – A place in the mind for high risk behavior
8. Detention – A place for consequences that confine
9. Hotel room – A place for your sexuality
10. Nightclub – A place in the mind where you celebrate and let off steam with friends and strangers
11. Finish line – a place in the mind dedicated to completion
By structuring the mind this way I create a process that works for me no matter how many times the content changes. It is a framework that begins to put persuasion in a sharper focus. There is an old axiom “Man know thyself” and that’s what persuasion experts fail to explain to their audience. You have to know yourself in order to persuade others because what works for someone else might not work for you.
What most persuasion experts provide for their audience is a cookie cutter template that winds up being nothing more than a map of successful case studies but they never give you a tailor made customized plan of study that fits your personality. They leave all of that up to you and that is where you begin to feel that persuasion knowledge fails you miserably.
You have to create structures then you have to create processes that can handle various tracts of content in order to have successful results in any endeavor. The place where all structures can be created to fit the processes you need to control is in your beliefs and they are located in your subconscious mind.
But what if I told you that it doesn’t matter where they are located as long as you know that when you change them you change everything. Your brain/mind is like a computer you can add, alter or delete a file no matter where the folder it is located.
So once you add, alter or delete a file you automatically modify the folder and the system. Just remember that accessing these files is equivalent to being a programmer you are not just changing files you are also changing your source code and your whole being.
I believe that persuasion is a process like happiness is a process. The main elements involved in the field of persuasive objects become the sweet balance of the manipulation of objectivity and subjectivity, structures and processes that manage content to result in persuasive power.
